The road stretches out before us,
Winding its way with twists and turns over craggy mountains and rugged terrain,
The destination not always clear.
The path to peace,
Never an easy one to navigate,
With all of its give and take
And lessons of empathy and compassion,
Of humility and trust,
To be a part of something larger than myself.
I hesitate, but nevertheless, put one foot in front of the other,
Inching ever so slowly toward the strains of a distant siren song.
There is no other option for me;
I have to believe, have to open my weary soul to possibility, to hope.
Though the price seems too dear,
