See Me

Don’t look past me,

Or through me;

See me.

See my courage,

My gentle heart,

My hopes and dreams.

See my devotion, my love.

See my flaws, my failures,

My joys, my sorrows,

My fears.

Each piece, the indelible fabric of my soul.

If you don’t see all of me,

Each thread of my complex tapestry,

You see only a shadow.
** I took this photo during a trip to Rome.

  1. P.S. It’s from a sculpture group called “Sacrifice” created in 1911 by Leonardo Bistolfi, at Rome’s Vittoriano. It wasn’t on a bridge as I had remembered. I’ve had fun looking back to find it. :))
