‘Twas the week before Christmas and all through the ‘hood,
Neighbors were bustling about, shopping all that they could.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
And we hope that our cat will let them remain there.
With I in my jammies and Dan in his, too, we sat on the sunporch for a cocktail or two.
When suddenly upstairs there arose such a clatter, Sophie and I jumped up to see what was the matter.
When what to our wondering eyes should appear, but Shiva the Diva,
Acting quite queer.
Her eyes were all wild, her tail it was twitching,
Sophie started whining, it was all so bewitching.
Shiva ran down the staircase four steps at a time,
With no doubt intentions of committing some crime.
The Christmas tree stood tall, all lit in full glory,
As Shiva approached it- and here’s the true story;
She stalked all around it and under it, too, but not one bit of damage did our evil one do.
And as she ran back up the stairs, as if in full flight,
We chuckled and shook our heads, filled with delight.
Christmas Magic it was, we had little doubt,
It even touched Shiva, a miraculous turn-about!
So from our little family to yours with our feline addition,
We wish you and yours a holiday filled with tradition.
Merry Christmas!
Haha! Love this poem!! I suppose Shiva has a little Christmas “spirit”!
Thank so much…she has a little Christmas *something* going on. 😂
