I took a bite from the fruit of life,
A taste at once both bitter and sweet,
Intoxicating.
Its juices ran down my chin,
Rich with memories and experience
And a cry of delight broke from my lips at the wonder of it all.
I took another bite and another,
Each one more fulfilling than the last of this rare yield,
Joy and hope in every seed.
For some things the law of diminishing returns is suspended!
