The View from Here

I wrote this a few years ago and just found it in my notes…

I constantly remind myself,

Look forward, not back.

Life happens in the now,

Not in the what was.

Looking into a mirror that reflects disappointment

Rather than the ripples of possibility.

To let go of the past,

To let go of the what ifs and the why nots,

Is to embrace the vibrant colors of now.

Such beauty in the moment,

Such sacred space.

I open my heart wide

And let it all rush in,

Baptizing me in joy.
