The View from Here

I awoke before dawn on this morning of a waning summer,

Laughter kissing my lips, joy in my heart.

There is so much to be grateful for,

Even in a world filled with aching darkness…maybe especially so.

If in darkness we can still find the beautiful and the good,

Then what can stop us?
