A Melody in Blue
There has been a chill in my heart of late,
Old fears raising their beastly heads,
Doubts bringing sleepless nights.
In my heart, I know it is all a charade,
The fear only a figment of my imagination,
Something I have battled and won before,
But this melody in blue plays on,
Singing its sad tune in my ear,
A lullaby that embraces me in ghostly arms.
Today I choose not to dance to its music,
Instead, I look around me and find love and light
Shining brightly in the winter sky.
I feel the heartbeat of kindness and gratitude,
Rewriting the melody in blue,
Now a symphony of joy.
