Innocent lives lost…
Innocence lost.
So much sadness,
And still I hope.
“Us” vs. “Them”
Angry words,
Rampant fear.
And still I hope.
The audacity to hope for change,
For compassion,
For understanding,
For peace.
It is never too late to hope,
Never too late to open our arms,
To reach across the divide,
To join in dialogue
With willing hearts and minds,
Enveloping the world in love,
The only weapon of consequence
In a world gone mad.
Neese, thank you, I needed this today. I just read there was a shooting at the police department in San Antonio last night. That’s only 20 or so minutes from us. Something has got to change; this can’t go on. We have to have hope or lock ourselves inside with fear. I hate guns.
I’m with you, Syl. I am so sorry to hear about what happened in San Antonio. We had an officer shooting here in Birmingham, too. Violence is just not the answer, though I know so many are at the end of their ropes. There has to be another way to bring change. ❤️
Oh, Neese, I didn’t know about Birmingham. ❤️
Syl, sadly we have shootings every single day in Birmingham. I will keep hoping for change. ❤️
