A Heavenly View

I see Mom in Heaven,
My dog at her feet.
She is giggling, Coops is sniffing
As in her hand is a treat.
They radiate joy,

Now all healthy and new,
Watching raptly below,
Seeing their family so blue.

“Don’t be sad, ” they both whisper,

As I wipe away a tear,

“Only think of us, my love,

and we’ll always be near.”

They are my angels, no doubt,

Cloaked in gossamer and light,

They live deep in my heart,

even though out of sight.

And though I still miss them,

A hole I cannot fill,

Their love wraps around me

A cloak of protection and goodwill.
